Under the Sea....I can see a Rainbow Fish!
Welcome back Parents and Carers we hope you all had an enjoyable Easter break! It was wonderful to see all the Nursery children back all ready for another fun packed and busy term ahead ...our final summer term!
Our new topic this half term is 'Under the Sea'. We launched our new topic with a new role play area, we have our own seaside cafe and ice cream parlour. You can also buy tickets for a deep sea scuba dive where you will see many amazing fish and sea creatures. The children have been really enjoying playing in there and dressing up in swim wear, goggles, snorkels, sunglasses, packing a beach bag, ordering and paying for items at the shop as well as enjoying a fishy story tale or too!
It has been a busy week, we began our new RE topic 'Good News', it was wonderful to hear all the good news in Nursery which we have displayed on our 'Good News' board. Nursery have also been acting out using props the Pentecost Story and how the Holy spirit was received. Our main story this week has been the Rainbow Fish, the children were excellent at suggesting how the Rainbow Fish could share and be a good friend. We have been continuing with our Phase 2 phonics and we was so pleased how well the children had remembered their sounds from the previous term. In maths we have been looking at 2d shapes where the children practised their cutting skills to match under the sea shapes correctly.
It has been a wonderful first week back!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Vinci and Mrs Direnzo
