WEEK 3
Class news
Friday 3rd May 2024
Year 4
Welcome to year 4 class news. We have had a lovely week.
Year 4 have been practising their catching and throwing skills week. We are also celebrating the holy month of Mary. We are reflecting on the life of the Holy Mother.
In assembly children were taught walk in the light of Jesus and his disciples showing love and kindness to each other.
Our new English topic is to entertain. The class is enjoying reading about Leon and the Place Between. We have been using writer’s techniques of zooming in and out and the use of prepositional phrases to help the reader imagine.
Maths is a continuation of decimals. We are focusing on solving non- routine and routine problems, developing different strategies to help us.
We have started our daily practice of TTR which will run until the children take their test. This is to enable the children to develop skills and speed for their upcoming times table test in May.
I would be very grateful if you would encourage the children to practise their TTR at home daily.
Our topic project is to make a Viking long boat to be finished by the 24th May.
Today some of the children in our class are taking part in the district sports.
The weather is very kind to us as it is sunny and mild.
I wish you all a very pleasant weekend.
Kind regards
Mrs Pringle
