Class News (5.5.23)
This week has been a short week and yet we seem to have put a great deal into it. In Maths we’ve been increasing our understanding of area by finding unknown measures and working backwards to calculate measures from a given area. We’ve enjoyed reading our new book, ‘The Promise’ by Nicola Davies in our English lessons and have been examining the two main characters as well as starting to plan a poem summarising the main events of the story.
This week in Science we compared and recorded the life cycles of amphibians, mammals and birds and in Geography we discussed the advantages and disadvantages of non-renewable sources which provide the United Kingdom with electricity.
Today we celebrated King Charles III’s Coronation. We spent the morning preparing for the party with lots of activities and then enjoyed a lovely St Joseph’s lunch party in the school hall complete with crowns and flags. Later in the afternoon, we had a super Magic Show with Mel the Magician followed by ice creams and the National Anthem. It was a fun and memorable end to a busy week and a lovely way for us to start this special Coronation weekend and Bank Holiday.
Many congratulations to our Writer and Stars of the Week. Have a very enjoyable Bank Holiday. Take care and stay safe.
Very best wishes
Mrs Howard
