Year 6 Summer 2, Week 5
The weeks are flying by and suddenly we only have 2 weeks left in Year 6!
This week has been Aspirations Week, culminating today in Aspirations Day. As part of this week, we were lucky enough to have PC Dan come in to talk to Year 6. He gave them a very interesting and informative talk as part of their transition to Year 7 about, among other things, use of social media, what constitutes a crime, what harassment is and how the wrong use of social media could impact them and others.
Today, for Aspirations Day, we have been privileged to have a number of speakers visit Year 6 including Georgia, to talk about her role in the NHS, Mrs Bailey to talk about the world of accountancy and Mrs Spears to talk about her roles as a midwife, councillor and deputy mayor. We are very grateful to all of them for giving up their time to come and pass on such interesting information. As a whole school this morning we also had a speaker from the Royal Marines who, as well as being very informative, impressed everyone with the video of him playing his trumpet in the Albert Hall.
This afternoon, we also squeezed in some role play with Reception in the hall.
