Reading

Please remember to read with your child daily and support them with understanding through comprehension of the text and not just decoding. Please make sure you sign your child’s reading record when you have read with them.

Spellings:

Our spelling rule this week is ‘g’ to make the /j/ sound.

Sometimes words can be spelled using a ‘g’ to make a /j/ sound, like gem and energy

Please see the spellings this week, practise them and then choose 5 words to put into a sentence.

Example: The giraffe is very tall.

Maths:

In maths this week we have been looking at different maths skills that we have learnt in year 1 and some new skills. Please complete the maths mat, I have also attached the answers for parents too.
