Year One News 17/6/2022
Hello everyone, Friday again and another busy week has come to an end!
In maths this week we have been looking at repeated addition and arrays. The children worked very hard making their own arrays.
In English we have been writing setting descriptions using our senses to explore each setting. The children also had to concentrate on their sentence writing, remembering all the skills they have learned this year including appropriate punctuation, sentence features and extending sentences using 'and', 'but' and 'because'. One story setting also required the chldren to use some of the things they have learnt in our Geography topic, namely the features of towns and countryside.
In RE we looked at making right or wrong choices. The children were given scenarios and had to decide which was the right or wrong choice in each situation. Everyone was able to identfiy the right choice and explain why it was the right thing to do. Well done everyone!
In science we continued to learn about the different animal groups and the features of the animals within each group.
Have a lovely weekend and 'Happy Father's Day'! We look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
