Hello everyone, the end of a fantastic week. This week was assessment week so we revisited learning the children's learning so far. We also did our first ever phonics screening practice and the children did so well!
This week we continued the story of The Jolly Christmas Postman, we wrote 'Get Well Soon' cards for Humpty Dumpty and game instructions for Little Red Riding Hood.
In maths we have been looking at odd and even numbers and counting in 2's, 5's and 10's.
As part of our geography topics, the culmination of all their hard work required the children to think about the features of our infant playground and to make improvements. They had to design and draw maps of their own, newly improved, playground, which were fantastic! Some wanted to add bird tables to attract different types of bird to our school, some added slides, swings, a minibeast hotel and one even wanted to add a swimming pool! Such fantastic designs!
The week ended with our Spanish Immersion Day. The children all looked wonderful in their Spanish colour themed clothing. We learned numbers to 10, colours, Feliz Navidad(which we sang as a school) and performed some Spanish inspired dancing with Miss Cicero. We also had the opportunity to try some Spanish food and the children particularly enjoyed the churros! We learned about Pablo Picasso and created our own Picasso-inspired self portraits, which were wonderful! A fantastic day, enjoyed by all and the end of a great week.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone,
Mrs Carpineta and Mrs Nicolini
