Class News, Spring 2, Week 1
The half term holiday disappeared in a flash and here we are in the second half of the Spring Term - halfway through the school year!
In maths this week we have continued our work on BIDMAS but extended it into further algebra, using Cuisennaire rods to help us model equations and simplify them.
Our English is coming to the end of the suspense unit we've been covering, so Year 6 have been planning and writing their own suspense stories. I'll look forward to reading those next week! Let's hope that tension really builds and there's a twist at the end of the tale.
It has also been DT week this week, which we'll be carrying on into next week. The Year 6 topic this time is Automata, so they have spent a couple of lessons measuring accurately and cutting their wood for their frames. Well done to the whole class who have approached this really sensibly and maturely, using the tools carefully and successfully.
Finally, well done to our Chaplaincy Team for leading the Ash Wednesday service so well this week. They distributed ashes in a dignified and reverent way and it was a lovely start to our Lenten Season.
