Year 6, Spring 2, Week 3
This week has been Science Week and in Year 6, we have been looking at Technology Through Time. We started by ordering different inventions on a timeline eg. the telegraph, a mobile phone, dial-up networking and trying to decide in which decade they had become available. From there, we learnt more about the telegraph and Morse Code, then created our own with a buzzer and a switch, using our previous knowledge of circuits from our recent electricity topic. We then began looking at vacuum cleaners which, surprisingly, in a horse-drawn form have been around since 1901. The children have created a circuit with a motor, in their groups and now just need to experiment with creating propeller blades to make them blow or suck air.
Yesterday we had our Prayer Service. Thank you to all the parents who were able to take the time to join us. The theme was Lent and Year 6 did a lovely job of presenting a thoughtful and prayerful service with some beautiful singing. Well done, Year 6.
