St. Joseph's Catholic Primary School - Open Afternoon
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School will be holding an Open Afternoon on Tuesday 22nd October 2024 at
2.00pm-3.00pm for all prospective new parents who will be applying for a Reception school or Nursery place to start in September 2025.
There will be an opportunity to view the school in action and to meet with the Headteacher and the Foundation/Early Years Teams.
Supplementary Information Forms will be available to collect on this afternoon please note completed forms and supporting documentation cannot be submitted to the school office until Monday 4th November 2024.
As well as completing and submitting the Supplementary Information Form to the school office, you must also apply for a school place online.
The online application process for Under 11s (Reception) commence on Friday 1st November 2024 and close on Wednesday 15th January 2025 on the following website www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions
Reception 2025 applies to children born between 1st September 2020 and 31st August 2021.
Nursery applications should be made via the school only and will commence on Friday 1st November 2024 and close on Wednesday 15th January 2025.

Please Note: We are a 30 hours childcare provider, and welcome applications from children of all faiths to our Nursery.
In addition to the completing the Supplementary Information Form, if you are a practising Catholic and are applying under categories 2 and 3, please obtain a Certificate Of Catholic Practice from your Parish Priest.

In-Year Applications
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.
An application should be made to the school by completing the in-year admissions application form and returning it to;
St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Royal Avenue, Waltham Cross, Herts, EN8 7EN
Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2024 -2025, will be applied as detailed in our Admissions Policy.
Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.
If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admission arrangements for more details.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.
You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

Admissions Arrangements
2026-2027
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School is consulting on their Admission Arrangements for the Academic Year 2026/2027 and is seeking responses from parent/carers, schools and community groups.
The proposed changes are:
- Alteration of wording where the policy is managed by St Joseph's Catholic Primary School to the St Francis of Assisi (SFOA) Catholic Academy Trust. This means all Primary Schools within the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy Trust will be adopting the same Admissions Policy, using the same over-subscription criteria.
- The addition within each category of the over-subscription criteria of a third prioritisation point, covering children of members of staff.
The consultation period runs from 4th November – 16th December 2024.
