Anti-bullying week-One Kind Word

This week was Anti-Bullying Week which coincided with the Just Talk campaign. We started off the week on Monday with our ‘Odd Socks Day’. The significance of the odd socks was to celebrate how unique and special we all are!

The theme of this year’s anti-bullying week was ‘One Kind Word’. During Monday’s assembly we looked at the importance of using kind words. This week the children learned of the ripple effect that kind words can have.  Say something positive to someone and that can completely change a situation. This week the children shared what they liked about each other and thought about the things they liked about themselves. The children were very thoughtful and reflective thinking about the importance of using kind words. They chose their favourite kind words then shared how these words make them feel and why they are their favourite. All the children recognised the need to use kind words and how they can spread positivity. The positivity and kindness that you show someone can change how a person feels. It can make that person’s day better and can change their outlook. Throughout this week, we reinforced this ethos of kindness and positivity which is such a huge part of life at St Joseph’s. How can you continue the ripple effect at home with your families? What kind words will you share?

Take a look at all the wonderful work that the children produced this week. We had lots of wonderful prayers, poetry, odd socks and more! Well done everyone. We are so proud of our wonderful and kind family at St Joseph’s!
