Happy New Year!

As we begin this new term I take this opportunity to say ‘Happy New Year’. I hope you have managed to stay safe and healthy over the festive period and enjoyed some much needed time with family and friends.

Each new year brings reflection, renewed faith and hope in what is to come. We look back and strive to move forward. As individuals, parents, educators or leaders ,we are no different. We want more each year. We want happiness ,success and continued good health.

As with the past few years this continues to be tested. Our resilience is wearing thin as Covid continues to hinder our plans. Still school life isn’t ‘normal’ ,no matter how much we try. I know this Christmas has meant many of our parents, children and staff testing positive. No matter how we try to live our lives and take the necessary precautions, still the virus spreads. It is through our measures, testing and vaccinations that we will continue to move forward.

While St Joseph’s continues to plan for all eventuality. Remote learning has been re planned, in school measures re assessed and now we prepare to settle back for the next 5 weeks and two days with increased cases and some staffing concerns. We will manage! We have come this far together and we will get through to half term, teaching, learning and enjoying everything that school life brings.

It is our faith that we gain strength from. Putting our trust in the Lord will carry us through.

Isaiah 40:31

‘But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint’.

What will this term bring?

  • A return of parent voice
  • Parent work shops
  • In school visits/experiences (We still have no trips so we are going to look to bring the experiences in)
  • Clubs – These will only be suspended if staffing is questioned due to sickness
  • Star of the week -Friday afternoon tea
  • Subject leader and Chaplaincy links with CAT schools
  • Parent consultations (online once more for Spring, but we will hopefully have a class celebration day in Summer where parents finally come inside)
  • And a lot more as always

My inspiration for the new year came as I was driving to Wales on Christmas eve.As my husband rolled his eyes,I listened and smiled.

Hopefully you will take the hope from this as I did.
