This week we continued the story of Jasper's Beanstalk. We learned about verbs and action words. The children acted out the actions from our story and then wrote their own 'bossy instructions' for Jasper to plant his bean. 

In maths we looked at ordinal numbers and identifying the position of children in a queue. The children were all fantastic at this so well done Year 1!

On Wednesday we were treated to a performance and workshop from the RockSteady music company. The children thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to experience the range of instruments and listen to Ross and Richard entertain with the selection. Thanks to Mrs Pisaturo for organising such a wonderful treat for the whole school!

In History this week we discussed the past. The children were all amazed when I explained about black and white television and even showed them one of the original Mickey Mouse cartoons! If you have not sent in your child's baby and birthday photos please do send through via dojo so we can complete our class timelines!

In science we continued to look at materials and what materials would be suitable for a certain job. Hopefully they can all remember what 'transparent' means and that glass is better to use for windows then wood and brick!
