WEEK 1
We have had a fantastic first week back at school, filled with enthusiasm and new beginnings.
We have started our new exciting topics across a range of subjects, which we are delighted to share with you.
In English, we have continued our exploration of explanation texts. The children have been particularly inspired as they design their own flying machines, and they are now in the process of crafting informative explanations of their creations. This task has provided an excellent opportunity to incorporate subordinating conjunctions to enhance their writing skills.
In RE, our discussions have centred around communities and the various groups we belong to. It has been enlightening for the children to recognise the importance of their roles within these communities and how they contribute to a richer collective experience.
In History, we have delved into the fascinating topic of the Anglo Saxon invasion of Britain. The children have engaged in developing an understanding of the reasons behind the invasion and have constructed a detailed timeline to illustrate this significant period.
In Maths, we focused on factors and the methods to identify them. We will continue looking at these next week.
In Spanish, our new topic on fruits has been a delightful introduction to vocabulary acquisition, and the students have enjoyed learning the names of various fruits in the target language.
Additionally, we have placed emphasis on homophones this week, guiding the children sing mini pictures so it helps them decided which word to use in their writing.
We wish you all a lovely weekend ahead and look forward to another engaging week of learning.
