WEEK 7

We have had a productive and engaging week at school. As we progress through the term, our children continue to demonstrate enthusiasm and a keen interest in their learning.

In English this week, we have made great progress in our persuasive speech unit. The children have been reflecting on the topics that ignite their passion, leading to thought-provoking discussions. So far, they have identified a range of issues such as environmental concerns, school uniform policies, the hazards of dangerous driving, and many more. It has been inspiring to witness their engagement and the diverse perspectives they bring to these important subjects.

Turning our focus to maths, we have continued our exploration of mental strategies. Chilldren have been experimenting with various techniques to enhance their problem-solving skills. This week has been particularly fruitful as they have been encouraged to adapt these strategies to suit different types of mathematical problems. The growth in their confidence and ability to tackle challenges is commendable.

This week in science, we have embarked on an exciting practical experiment concerning dental health. The students were tasked with setting up a fair test for our science teeth experiment, which will allow them to observe and record results over the next few days. The inquiry-based approach has sparked curiosity, and it is heartening to see our young scientists grappling with real-world applications of scientific methods.

A highlight of the week was undoubtedly our Spanish Day, which was both educational and enjoyable. The children embraced the opportunity to learn about Spanish culture and language, focusing on the days of the week and the months of the year. Additionally, participation in flamenco dancing allowed them to immerse themselves in the rich traditions of the Spanish-speaking world. It was a fantastic celebration of diversity and culture.

As we reflect on our achievements this week, we would like to say congratulations to our Stars of the Week: Messi and Tadiwa. Their hard work and dedication have truly stood out. We also recognise Olivia S for her outstanding writing efforts. Well done to all!
