Hi everyone, we've had another busy week in Year 1! 

In English, we have been writing sentences using a picture as a writing stimulus. The children have all tried so hard to write and even extend their sentences. Well done Year 1!

In maths, we were subitising and looking at number representations of numbers up to 10.

On Tuesday, we had our whole school retreat day. We started the day with a whole school mass. We then joined with Year 5 to make stained glass crosses using card and colourful tissue paper. After break we played liturgical bingo, which the children all really enjoyed. After lunch we joined Year 5 again to make biscuits and had some extra play together before enjoying our biscuits. In class we had our reflection, thinking about the Creation Story and how we can take care of everything God has created. It was a really special day, with lots of time for prayer and reflection.
