Whoosh, bang and sparkle!....
Just like a rocket, the week has zoomed by!
We began our week listening to the story of Guy Fawkes and why we have Bonfire Night on November 5th. Nursery class enjoyed using cardboard tubes, paint and glitter to make their wonderful and colourful firework pictures which you will have seen on class Dojo. The children also enjoyed making their own icing and sprinkle sparklers but I think they enjoyed eating them more! We also made a visit to our forest school where we all got to stand around our fire pit and listen to the Guy Fawkes story.
In maths we have been using unifix cubes to make repeating patterns and in our phonics carpet time we have been listening to environmental sounds, listening carefully and deciding what we can hear for example it could be a car starting up or a dog barking. These listening skills are important for when we begin learning our phonics sounds in the new year. In our writing area the children have explored firework shape pictures which they have traced over with a pen or pencil to develop their hand and eye coordination and fine motor skills.
We look forward to another fun and busy week ahead!
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Vinci & Mrs Direnzo
