WEEK 4

We have had a fantastic week here at school, filled with exciting learning opportunities and memorable experiences! Our recent trip to Kew Gardens proved to be a highlight of the term. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the diverse ecosystem of the rainforest, where they had the chance to learn about various types of trees that thrive in this unique environment.

During our visit, we delved into the invaluable resources provided by the rainforest, discovering the many medicines and foods that originate from these lush landscapes. The children were particularly intrigued by how these natural resources contribute to our daily lives, both in terms of nutrition and health.

One of the most engaging activities involved a creative exercise where the children imagined themselves stranded in the rainforest. They had to consider what resources would be available to them and strategise on how to survive using the environment around them. This hands-on approach not only sparked their imaginations but also fostered collaboration and problem-solving skills as they worked together to create solutions.

The children were fascinated to learn about the indigenous people who inhabit these regions, gaining insights into their lifestyles, traditions, and deep knowledge of the land. This aspect of our learning has inspired conversations about respect for different cultures and the importance of preserving our natural world.

I would like to thank our parent volunteers, whose support made this trip possible. Your contributions are invaluable, and we truly appreciate the time and effort you dedicate to enriching our children’s learning experiences.

Thank you for your continued support as we strive to provide engaging and educational experiences for our students.
