WEEK 3
What a great week we have had! It is always a pleasure to witness the enthusiasm with which the children approach their work, and this week was no exception.
In English, the children have made significant progress with their graphic novels. They have started bringing their stories to life through illustrations and text, and I must say, it has been a joy to read their imaginative creations. I am eagerly looking forward to the moment when they will have the opportunity to share their work with you in a couple of weeks' time.
In maths, we have started looking at rounding based on place value. The children have engaged well with these concepts, and we will continue to delve deeper into this topic over the course of next week. It is fantastic to see their understanding develop as we tackle new challenges together.
In science, our exploration of the digestive system has been both educational and entertaining. We recreated the entire system, which sparked many laughs and some shocked reactions at the end result. However, once the initial astonishment wore off, the children displayed impressive recall of the digestive processes and their functions.
Our history lessons this week focused on Tudor children and their roles in society. We met a young apprentice named Henry, whom the children quizzed through a hot-seating activity. It was a vibrant session filled with great questions and answers, and definitely one that everyone enjoyed.
Our second PE lesson was a splendid success as we began our tennis unit, honing our throwing and catching skills.
In computing, we revisited vocabulary from previous years and created a graphic novel on how to be SMART online.
Well done to everyone this week! Let’s maintain our focus and continue to produce fantastic work.
A special congratulations to our stars and writers!
