Autumn 1, Week 6 - Friday 11th October 2024
The weeks are flying by in Year 6 and this one has been just as busy as usual. In maths, we have been looking at choosing the best strategies for working out problems eg. using place value, doubling/halving or base facts. These methods will help to speed up arithmetic.
We have completed our RE topic, Loving, and have begun our new one of Vocation and Commitment. We have also enjoyed some really thoughtful acts of worship from our children who have been leading our weekly class reflection.
Today we celebrated Spain's National Day by dressing in red and yellow, finding out about Christopher Columbus, different areas in Spain and also Santiago de Compostela, where the remains of St James (Sant Iago) lie. We also had a great session learning some flamenco. Year 6 really entered into it and especially nailed the 'attitude' faces!
