WEEK 4
What a busy yet absolutely fantastic week we’ve had here at St. Joseph's! As the Science Lead, it was truly my pleasure to host our very first science fair, which showcased the incredible learning taking place across the school. It was inspiring to witness the myriad directions our students took in exploring how science can drive change and adaptation in our world. A big thank you to all for your support in making this event a success!
In English, we focused our efforts on crafting a sustained piece of writing for our Trust competition, centring the theme on the Easter story. The creativity and depth of thought displayed by our students was remarkable!
Additionally, we celebrated St. Joseph's Day with a variety of engaging activities. The students created their own tiles representing St. Joseph and took the time to write heartfelt prayers. Of course, the celebrations wouldn’t have been complete without our lovely mass and a delightful ice cream treat!
What a fantastic month it has been! We also celebrated National Poetry Day with the incredibly talented Neal Zetter, who led some brilliant workshops with our class. The children dove into the world of poetry, creating their very own fantastic poems while adhering to specific rules – and let me tell you, the results were absolutely fabulous!
In addition, we took on the challenge of learning, rehearsing, and performing the delightful poem "Gran, Can You Wrap?" It brought so much joy and laughter to our sessions, and the enthusiasm from the children was infectious.
I highly encourage you to visit our website, where you can catch videos of our performances – they're a real treat! Thank you for your continued support in making our classroom a vibrant place for creativity and learning. Here's to more exciting adventures ahead!
Not to forget, we continued exploring our geography unit, diving deep into the journey of chocolate – from its importation to the delectable delights we all adore. Here’s to another wonderful week ahead!
