Who’s that trip trapping over my bridge…

Friday again, another busy week has flown by! As part of our traditional tales topic, our story this week is The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We began the week listening to the story and by the end of the week the children were using the story masks, puppets and props to retell the story. We were so impressed with the children - we had some great story telling language ! Well done Nursery 😊

We continued our phase 2 phonics learning this week. We explained to the children by learning our sounds how they will support us learning to read books and write. The children are excited to learn their sounds so they can read their older brother and sister’s books - the challenge is on!! As you will have seen from Dojo we have been practicing writing our names and finding the letters to match our names. The children did very well and maybe this is something that could also be practiced at home.
On our creative table to support the children’s fine motor skills, the children enjoyed threading pipe cleaners in colanders to make a new hairstyle for the troll. Very creative Nursery.
In maths we continue with number, quantity and counting through songs, rhymes and maths provision.

This week in R.E we have been learning about ‘Epiphany’. We recapped the Christmas story and who had visited Baby Jesus. Nursery also learned about the 3 Wise Men (the Magi) visiting Baby Jesus and King Herald. Nursery made their own crowns for our R.E display. Also as part of our Jubilee year set by Pope Francis - our year of hope, Nursery put on their wellies and went outside to explore God’s amazing creations we heard the birds singing, the beautiful sky, rain puddles to jump in and grass to run in. Our school Jubilee year of hope display will be in the lunch hall for you to see.

Well done to our stars of the week 🤩 Emmanuel and Maisa

We wish you all a wonderful and restful weekend,
