Week 4

This week was a very special week for everyone at St Joseph’s Primary School as we said good luck and farewell to our Head teacher, Mrs O’Connor.  On Wednesday we all dressed in pink (Mrs O’Connor’s favourite colour) and she marked her time at St Joseph’s with a lovely Celebration Assembly of her own.

Then this morning we held a Mass in her honour to celebrate all her achievements and to bless her new ventures. The children and members of staff read prayers, the choir sang beautifully and Father John led the Mass. In the afternoon, it was the turn of the children and staff to hold a Celebration Assembly for Mrs O’Connor.  Throughout the week, songs and dance routines had been practised and on the day it all came together beautifully. Glee club and Line Dance club gave super performances, year groups came together to sing some of Mrs O’Connor’s favourite songs and cards and gifts were given. It was a very lovely celebration for our dear Head teacher and we all wish her the very best as she takes on her new role.

In Maths this week, we started work on comparing and finding equivalent fractions.  In English, we planned persuasive letters to Mrs Moseley and in RE we investigated the importance of the Diocese and the role of the Bishop.

Many congratulations to our Stars and writer of the Week. Have a lovely weekend!

Best wishes

Mrs Howard
