Police…..Police
As part of our ‘People who help us’ topic, we began thinking about the police and how they help us and keep us safe. We discussed a police officer’s uniform and things they might have and use such as reflective clothing, a radio and a torch. Nursery had some excellent suggestions how and why these things might be used. As you will have seen from Dojo Nursery enjoyed taking their own finger prints and using the magnify glasses to look at the marks and squiggles on their fingers. We discussed how finger prints are used.
We continued this week with our Phase 1 phonics in preparation for phonics phase 2 next term. The children’s listening skills are really improving and are able to distinguish many different sounds.
We have been continuing with our counting and number songs. We played a snowflake game on our interactive whiteboard, the children had to count the number of snowflakes and match them to the correct numeral. Their counting and matching number to quantity has really developed. Well done Nursery.
In R.E we began learning about the Annunciation to Mary by the Angel Gabriel. Nursery used the wooden puppets to support retelling the story we also made our own Angel Gabriel’s which you can see on our R.E display.
Well done to our Stars of the week and our Bumble Bee Trunkie 😊
Thank you for your continued support and we wish you a wonderful weekend.
