WEEK 3
As we draw to the end of another productive week, I am exciteed to share the exciting learning that has been taking place in our class.
In Maths this week, we have been focusing on multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100. The children have been exploring how these operations affect numbers, enabling them to understand the concept of scaling with confidence. Their enthusiasm for numbers has been fantastic to see!
In English, we have reached the final stages of our current unit. The children have been busy planning and drafting their explanation texts about their imaginative crazy contraptions. I am thrilled to announce that these pieces will be compiled into a book, which we will showcase for you at the end of the year. It promises to be a wonderful celebration of their hard work!
In Spanish, we have been learning about fruits, and I am excited to say that we will soon be transitioning to vegetables. The children are particularly eager to demonstrate their vocabulary through matching card games, which they will be playing during our Spanish lessons next week.
Our History lessons have taken a creative turn, as I am sure you are aware. The children have enjoyed making Anglo-Saxon wattle and daub, following a step-by-step process to create their masterpieces. We will revisit these creations next week, where we will compare our work with modern techniques and discuss their effectiveness.
Finally, in Science, we have been investigating frequency. The students conducted an experiment to determine how the distance from a sound source affects its volume. Their engagement with this hands-on activity has been impressive, and I encourage you to have a look at the photos attached.
