Week 3 9/5/25
Week 3 - Another fun packed week here in Reception!
English: This week we read the story of 'Katie in London'. We wrote sentences about all the places she visited with her brother Jack and the Lion. We have been really concentrating on finding and using our Phase 3 sounds and trying very hard to remember our finger spaces.
Phonics: We have learnt all our Phase 3 sounds and are constantly revisiting them along with our tricky words.
Maths: We have been making 10 using the cherry model. What 2 numbers make 10?
UW: This week we have been looking on the maps for famous London landmarks.
We have also celebrated a new Pope being chosen. The children have enjoyed telling me that they saw the white smoke.
V.E. Day celebrations were in full swing today! The children enjoyed lots of fun packed activities like playing games, learning a 1940's dance, designing a medal, drawing a newspaper report and enjoying some lovely refreshments.
