WEEK 4 - 03|10|2025
This week in English, we began our new unit, ‘How to Make Friends with a Ghost’. The children have shown some great entertaining sets of instructions on how to look after their ghost, using conjunctions and verbs. Next week, we will begin to create our own ghosts.
On Tuesday, we celebrated National Poetry Day with a special visit from Neal Zetter. We read three of his poems, ‘Chicken in the Kitchen’, ‘Just Be You’, and ‘Hide and Seek’. We had a vote and chose our favourite one to learn and perform, ‘Just Be You’. The children showed fantastic teamwork and resilience, learning a whole poem off by heart with actions in just half a day! It was great to see the children so confident; they really made me proud! ☺️
In Maths, we are starting a new learning step, place value and regrouping 2-digit numbers, building on all our prior learning.
In History, we continued comparing schools from the past to schools today. The children drew some amazing comparisons of a classroom from 100 years ago to what our classroom looks like today.
On Friday, we celebrated our Trust Saint’s Feast Day, ‘St Francis of Assisi’. We went to Mass, had a special treat, and took part in fun activities learning all about St Francis and his life!
Finally, a special mention to our Stars and Learner of the Week!
✨ Stars of the Week: Tymon and Oseyemere for their outstanding participation, resilience, and hard work this week.
✏️ Learner of the Week: Elsa, for her amazing handwriting and retelling of the story of Noah’s Ark – well done!
