WEEK 5 - 10|10|2025

This week, we celebrated Black History Month. Our icon of influence was Malorie Blackman. The children were inspired by Malorie and her amazing stories, which are written based on her own passions. The children then wrote their own stories about things they are passionate about. We learned that Malorie Blackman is an author who struggled to sell her books but never gave up and didn’t take no for an answer. She is an influential person because she teaches us to never give up on our dreams.

In English, we are continuing our unit, “How to Make Friends with a Ghost.” The children have started creating some great sets of instructions on how to look after a ghost, leading to our final piece of writing: a set of instructions on how to be a good friend.

On Tuesday, we took part in a drama session. The children had loads of fun and really enjoyed their time!

In Maths, we have continued to learn about 2-digit numbers and their properties. We have also been exploring value using different manipulatives, such as base-10, money, and number cards.

Finally, a special mention to our Stars and Learner of the Week!
✨ Stars of the Week: Oselene and Taylor for their outstanding behaviour and participation this week.
✏️ Learner of the Week: Elizabeth, for her amazing efforts across all subjects!

Thank you all for your support. We wish you a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing you all on Monday!

Kind regards,
