Week 6
This first half of the Spring term has gone so quickly and I can’t believe that we’re half way through Year 5! It’s been another busy week with lots happening too!
I’ve been so impressed with our Art work exploring retro-futuristic art from the 1950s and 1960s. We created printing plates using a technique called collagraphy (a print making process that uses textures to create interesting surfaces). Once we made our background prints, we added our own ideas on what we thought the future might be like. The results were super!
In RE, we’ve been investigating the importance of the Westminster diocese as well as the role of the Bishop and creating an information about the work of the Westminster cathedral. In English, we’ve been revising our grammar and have focused on apostrophes for possession and in Maths we’ve been doing more work on converting improper fractions to mixed number fractions and vice versa before we start comparing and ordering fractions after the half-term break.
Many congratulations to our Stars and Writer of the Week. Have a super half term break and a good rest. Take care and stay safe.
Best wishes
Mrs Howard
