We remember...

As you know the month of November is an important time of reflection in The Catholic Church, it is a special month to pray and remember those who are no longer with us. We began our week in nursery, by attending our whole school remembrance mass. We were so impressed by Nursery, they sat and listened beautifully throughout the mass and all stood still for our two minute silence. As you will have seen from class dojo, Nursery all individually made their own poppy to show remembrance at this time. The children enjoyed using the glitter and tissue paper to make them and you can see them displayed on our RE board.

In nursery we continued with our phase 1 phonics environmental sounds. The children are getting very good at tuning in to the sounds and thinking about what they can hear. This phase is so important as it is the precursor before we learn our letter sounds after Christmas. So many of Nursery class enjoy using our whiteboard to mark make and many are starting to write letters in their name which is fantastic to see - keep it up Nursery!

We continue in maths to sing our counting songs and think about our number recognition to quantity - the children are all starting to grasp this well - well done Nursery!

We ended our week by Supporting the BBC Charity Children In Need. The children had great fun in raising money and took part in many activities as wearing their own spotty clothes, making their own spotty Pudsey bears, they did an online workout with Joe Wicks,  dancing with Miss Cicero from Dance Work Academy and a dance off with school staff plus cakes and treats!!

Next week we look forward to beginning our new topic 'People who help us', and will be thinking thinking about people who help us at home.  Our R.E topic this half term is Prophecy and Promise.

Well done to our stars of the week Christian and Sofia and our learner of the week Bulut smiley

We look forward to another busy week but in the meantime have a wonderful weekend.
