WEEK 3
This week in English, we continued working on our graphic novels. The children have planned out their stories and have now started drawing them, focusing on editing and improving their work. We’ve also been practising how to use the zoom in and zoom out skill to add detail and perspective.
In Maths, we explored number magnitude and benchmarking, using this information to place numbers on number lines. We have also been rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1,000, and we’ll continue to secure this learning next week.
In Science, we’ve been looking at the different types of teeth – what they are called, where they are located and their functions. Did you know that humans have four different types of teeth, each with a special job?
In RE, we learned about Abraham’s time: what life was like, what people believed in, and where he lived, so that we can look at Abraham’s story in more depth.
In Reading, we have started exploring one of my favourite texts, Eye of the Wolf. The children have enjoyed diving into the opening chapters and sharing their first impressions.
In Spanish, we are learning how to say “I know how…” and building simple sentences around this phrase.
Finally, in PSHE, we are focusing on Me in My World. This week we looked at the different jobs within our school, the responsibilities they carry, and how everyone’s role is important in helping our school community thrive.
Well done to stars and learner of the week. It was difficult to choose this week!
