Week 3
It’s been a busy week in Year 3 and one of the highlights was a visit from the Rock Steady Crew on Wednesday. Not only was it very educational as we were shown how to play the drums, keyboard and guitar, but it was great fun - especially watching the teachers try to play some of the instruments in front of us!
In Maths, we’ve been working hard on counting 10 less and more using 3-digit numbers and next week we’ll be doing the same with 100s before we move onto larger numbers.
In English we revised our use of conjunctions and then used them to help us write expanded noun phrases for our character descriptions of either the Princess, Prince or Dragon in our book ‘The Paper Bag Princess’.
In RE, we’ve been exploring the story of Creation and how God created us in his image and gave us Earth to look after and be its guardians.
We really enjoyed our Science unit on Rocks this week because we examined the qualities of different rocks by comparing them with chocolate bars. We were fascinated to see that a KitKat has layers just like the layers you find in sedimentary rock.
Congratulations to our Stars of the week and to our Learner of the Week too. Have a super weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week in class.
Best wishes
