WEEK 4

We have had a great week in Year 4, and I am delighted to share all the exciting activities that your children have been engaging in!

In our maths lessons, the children have just completed their unit on decimals and are now mastering fractions! It’s wonderful to see how swiftly they are grasping the concept—truly flying through it! The use of bar models has been particularly beneficial, allowing the children to visualise their understanding. Their enthusiasm for learning is infectious, and I can’t wait to see how they apply these skills in future lessons.

English has been equally lively, as we continue to explore the captivating tale of Leon and the Place Between. We’ve been focusing on story endings, encouraging the children to get creative and think about how they might transform the conclusion of a story. Their ideas have been nothing short of brilliant, showcasing their growing talents as young storytellers.

In Religious Education, our journey through the story of Pentecost continues. The children have been engaged and thoughtful, discussing the significance of the events and how they are relevant to us today. It’s heartwarming to see their curiosity and depth of understanding develop.

Finally, in History, we’ve delved into the fascinating world of the Mayans! We’ve examined various Mayan gods and goddesses, and the children have loved studying maps to identify where these ancient wonders once stood. This exploration has sparked some lively discussions and has inspired many to delve deeper into the rich cultural history of the Mayan civilisation.

As we head into the weekend, I want to thank you all for your continued support and involvement in your child’s education. Have a fantastic weekend, and I look forward to seeing everyone back and ready for another exciting week ahead!a
