WEEK 5

It’s been an absolutely fantastic week filled with creativity, curiosity, and great discussions!

In English, we’ve been putting the finishing touches on our graphic novels, and they are looking truly incredible — the children have poured so much imagination and effort into their work, and we can’t wait to share them with you soon.

In Maths, we’ve been developing our mental strategies and building confidence when working with numbers, exploring different ways to solve problems quickly and accurately. Please continue to support this at home by practising multiplication facts, particularly the 6 times table, as this will really help strengthen fluency.

In RE, we’ve been delving deep into the story of Abraham, learning about where he came from, what he did for a living and reflecting thoughtfully on some big ‘wonder’ questions. The children have shown fantastic use of their oracy skills to express their ideas and listen carefully to one another.

In Science, we’ve been exploring the fascinating world of animal teeth, comparing the differences between herbivores, carnivores and omnivores and thinking about how their teeth link to what they eat.

As part of Black History Week, we also spent time learning about the inspirational lives of Roy Hackett and Diane Abbott, discussing their contributions and the impact they’ve had on society. We’ll continue to explore other influential figures throughout the year across all our subjects, making connections between the past and the present.

It’s been a wonderful week of learning, reflection, and growth — well done, everyone!
