Week 9
What a busy week! This week was British Science Week and Year 5 have enjoyed some really great activities as they looked at sustainable consumption and production patterns, researching how far food travels and how to keep preserve food to keep food waste to a minimum. It looked as if it was a very interesting week of lessons and I was quite envious of what they were doing!
In maths the children were practising adding fractions, firstly with the same denominators and then with denominators that had common multiples. From what I saw, it was a very successful week of fraction work.
In English, they have continued their work inspired by The Boy in the Tower as well as practising using apostrophes. They have also started their new geography topic about oceans.
Well done Year 5 for a busy and productive week.
