Autumn 1, Week 5 - Friday 4th October 2024
Year 6 have had a productive week, as usual, with plenty going on. In maths, we have moved from place value to using that knowledge to multiply or divide by 10, 100 and 1000 and to solve reasoning problems.
In English, we have looked at dialogue, focusing on using a 'show not tell' approach and trying to convey action and character through dialogue.
Our science involved an interesting investigation into creating pulsilogiums and using them to measure each other's pulses.
We finished the week by celebrating the feast day of the saint who is patron of our Academy Trust - St Francis of Assisi. The day began with Mass at Church for the whole school, parents and parishioners. Well done to all the children who read so clearly and to the choir who led the singing so beautifully.
