WEEK 1
Happy New Year and welcome back to our first week of 2026! We have been talking about New Year’s resolutions and how setting goals can help us challenge ourselves and grow this year.
The Year 4 had a thoughtful and reflective prayer service on the theme of Epiphany. The children did amazingly, especially considering we only had two days to practise – we are very proud of them. The children spoke confidently and thoughtfully about the different gifts they can bring to others through kindness, generosity and care. They reminded us that, just like the star that guided the Wise Men, we can all be a light to guide and support others in our everyday lives.
In English, we have started our new unit on explanation texts. The children will be designing their own flying machines and then explaining how they work to others. We are already seeing some fantastic creativity and ideas!
In Maths, we have been exploring the effects of multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100. Next week, we will be moving on to measures.
We also visited the library again this week. Please remember to return any borrowed library books so that the children can change them on their next visit.
A great start to the year, Year 4 – keep it up! 🌟
