WEEK 10 - 21|11|2025
WOW - it's Friday again...
This week, we finished writing our own stories based on the book 'Last Stop on Market Street'. The children planned and drafted their own stories, using their own characters, expanded noun phrases, verbs, and conjunctions. The children's stories are amazing! 🤩
In maths, we have been learning about adding and subtracting numbers. We learnt about ‘inverse’, which means the opposite, and used think addition when subtracting. For example, we know that if 16 – 9 is 7, then 7 + 9 = 16!
We have continued learning about hot and cold places. This week, we compared Kenya to the UK. Kenya is located on the continent of Africa and is very hot, as it lies on the Equator. We looked at the human and physical features in Kenya and discussed whether these were similar or different to those in the UK.
In RE, we continued our topic. This week, we looked at light and darkness. We discussed two pictures and understood that the light in those pictures was a symbol from God that Jesus is the light of the world. We also made our own stained glass windows and held them up to the window to let the light shine through as we welcomed Jesus into our classroom.
We have also been having great fun practising our nativity songs!
Finally, a special mention to our Stars and Learner of the Week!
✨ Stars of the Week: Isaac and Taylor for their hard work and brilliant behaviour this week!
