WEEK 3
Year 4 have been fantastic this week!
In RE, we have created some fantastic work answering the question Jesus asked Peter: “Who do YOU say I am?” This was a really challenging question, and the children put a lot of thought into their responses.
In Maths, we have been learning about perimeter and reading graphs. The children were particularly challenged by finding the perimeter in word problems where information was missing, but they showed great perseverance with this tricky task.
In History, the children have been learning about invaders and settlers. They wrote newspaper articles evaluating the causes and consequences of the Anglo-Saxon and Scots invasions of Britain. They also researched historical artefacts and used them to draw inferences about the past.
In PE, we have had lots of fun playing dodgeball and learning the rules and skills needed to outwit an opponent.
In English, we have been focusing on explanation texts. The children explained how their own inventions work and came up with creative and funny explanations for how TVs, toasters and dishwashers work. We have also been learning about fronted adverbials and how to use them effectively, as well as using conjunctions to add more detail and information to our sentences. Their work has been really enjoyable and exciting to read! I will share some of them once we have finished writing.
We have also been working really hard on our handwriting, and this is really paying off.
Well done, Year 4!
