WEEK 4
This week has been an exciting time for our children as we wrapped up our explanations, and I cannot wait for you to see the incredible work that will be published this summer. The enthusiasm and creativity demonstrated by the children have truly been fantastic!
In RE, we have delved into the diverse communities within our local church. The children have engaged thoughtfully with the various roles and responsibilities of these groups, reflecting on who they serve and how their contributions positively impact the wider community. This exploration not only enhances their understanding of faith but also fosters a sense of belonging and responsibility towards others.
Meanwhile, in History, our young historians embarked on an intriguing journey as we began our study of the artefacts uncovered at Sutton Hoo. The students took on the challenging task of inferring to whom these items may have belonged and the stories they might tell us about the past. This activity has not only sparked their curiosity but has also encouraged critical thinking as they make connections between historical evidence and the broader context of Anglo-Saxon life.
In Maths, we have commenced our unit on the conversion of measures. So far, we have focused on millimetres, centimetres, metres, and kilometres. The children have shown great enthusiasm as they tackle these concepts and next week, we will extend our focus to include grams and kilograms, as well as litres and millilitres. I am confident that they will continue to excel in this area, building crucial skills for future applications.
