Week 4

It’s been another busy week this term and we really enjoyed the chance to play Irish football on Wednesday!  The coach helped us practise moving around the field in different directions as well as the different ways of catching and passing the ball.  Everyone had a good time and did very well indeed.

In the classroom, we’ve been revising 10 and 100 less and more using 3-digit numbers as well as practising our ten times tables. In English we planned and wrote a fairy story from the viewpoint of the dragon in ‘The Paper Bag Princess’ and we will be editing our work  next week with our partners.

In RE we collaborated to create a class poem based on the Creation story for our class display and reflection table.

In History, we’ve continued our investigation into the Stone Age by examining photos from a settlement called Skara Brae which is a Scottish seaside settlement built over 5,000 years ago during the Neolithic period. We learnt that the remains of the stone houses and the pottery found are primary sources which means that they are first hand objects rather than secondary sources.

Congratulations to our Stars of the week and to our Learner of the Week too.  Have a restful weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week in class.

Best wishes
