WEEK 9 - 14|11|2025
This week was Anti-Bullying Week! This year’s theme was ‘Power for Good’. 💪💖
We started off the week wearing our odd socks, and we even decorated our own. Throughout the week, we have been talking about what it means to be kind, how we can show kindness, and what to do if someone is being bullied.
We chose our new anti-bullying ambassadors - Chindeum and Jason.
This week in English, we went on our very own journey, just like CJ, around our school. We took time to stop and notice all the beauty around us. Using our senses, we created expanded noun phrases to give our readers as much detail as possible. The children did this brilliantly.
Here are some examples we came up with: “the old brown fence with little spots of green moss on it,” “the trees swayed in the wind,” “the cars sped past and splashed in the puddles,” and “the birds chirped in the trees.”
In maths, we have been looking at adding and subtracting numbers. We have been rebalancing number sentences to make them easier to work out. For example, 12 + 9 is the same as 11 + 10, and 12 − 9 is the same as 11 − 10.
We have continued learning about 'Hot and Cold Places' in Geography. This week, we have looked at the equator and the countries you might find there. We learnt that the equator is an imaginary line that runs through the middle of the Earth, and that countries near the equator are very hot, for example, Brazil and Indonesia.
In RE, we have started our new topic, 'Prophecy and Promise'. We learnt about what prophets are and why they are important.
On Thursday, it was World Kindness Day. We took part in a kindness assembly and then wrote kindness cards for someone in the class. It was really lovely to read and see the children give their cards to each other around the room.
We also had great fun on Friday, raising money for Children in Need. We had a cake sale, dance workshops, guess the baby, and class bingo. Great fun was had by all, and thank you for your support and cake donations.
Finally, a special mention to our Stars and Learner of the Week.
✨ Stars of the Week: Isaiah and Leonor for their hard work and brilliant behaviour this week.
✏️ Learner of the Week: Sofia, for amazing RE work. Well done.

Kind regards,
