WEEK 7
English
This week in English, we continued reading The King Who Banned the Dark. We also began planning our persuasive speeches, thinking carefully about our topics and key arguments. We’ll write these up fully during the first week back after half term.
Maths
In Maths, we focused on mental strategies such as equal sums and regrouping from the minuend using the nearest 10 or 100. We also practised our multiplication skills, which we’ll keep building on next term.
Science
In Science, we explored food chains and investigated different types of toothpaste to see which worked best — some great scientific thinking on display! We also tested different tooth pastes which protect our teeth. The children really enjoyed this.
History
In History, we compared the lives of Victorian and Tudor children, thinking about how daily life, school and play have changed over time.
RE
In RE, we looked at virtues and explored how Abraham showed love, faith, and hope in his life, using scripture as evidence.
It’s been a busy and exciting week of learning. Have a wonderful half term break, and we’ll see you all on Monday 3rd November for another fun-filled half term!
