Class News 20.3.26

Spring has sprung…..

Nursery class went on a 'spring walk' this week! The children were excited to explore and see the changes since our winter walk. We saw lots of daffodils, tulips and blossom starting to bloom. We looked at all the plants and trees growing new buds and leaves as they awaken after winter. We used this inspiration to make our own daffodils 🌼 using green card and scrunching yellow tissue paper.  You can see those displayed hanging  in our classroom.

We continued with our phase 2 phonics - We continue to listen and distinguish between the sounds and practice our letter formation. We was so impressed every child came and wrote the 'i' sound on my teaching board! We also began learning the sound ‘n’. We have also been practicing our name writing too! In maths we began to look at repeating patterns using our pattern boards and we will continue with this next week.

In RE we have been continuing to reflect during this time of Lent. We have been learning about Palm Sunday when Jesus rode into Jerusalem to shouts and cheers of Hosanna. We have made our own palms to show in our prayer service next week.

On Thursday we celebrated our feast day of 'St Joseph's' by reflecting on our Saint and by each making our own Lily flower as

St. Joseph is always shown holding these.  It was such a lovely sunny day and we got some extra playtime outside in our outdoor area.

It was wonderful to see you all at our parent consultations and share with you your child’s progress. We thank you for all your continued support in Nursery 😊

We look forward to seeing both parents and carers on Tuesday 24th March at 9:10am for Nursery Class prayer service with Father John.

Well done to our stars of the week Kavian and Chizitere 🤩🤩 and our learner of the week Joshua.

We wish you a wonderful weekend and hopefully the sunshine will continue.
