Week 12
We’ve had a super week making seasonal tarts as part of our D&T week. On Monday we researched what seasonal foods are and the difference between imported and exported foods as well as their nutritional value. Then we were given a special brief from The Four Seasons restaurant to create a new tart using seasonal vegetables.
For the rest of the week, we practised our cutting and peeling skills on a selection of fruit and vegetables as well as tasting them to see what would be best for our tarts. We wanted to create tarts that were not only good to look at but were also healthy. We really enjoyed preparing and cooking our tarts and the results were delicious!
Thursday was St Joseph’s Transition Day and we went to visit our new teacher and classroom ready for September and our move into Year 4.
