WEEK 5
This week in Year 4, we have had an exciting and busy time, filled with learning and creativity.
We have finished our fractions unit in maths, and the children did a fantastic job understanding different parts of a whole.
In RE, we explored the story of the Ethiopian eunuch and Philip, as well as the journey of Paul on the road to Damascus, where he was blinded and then found his faith in God, which gave him New Life. The children showed great understanding and reflection, and wrote some fantastic letters and speeches about how the Holy Spirit and God guide us and give us courage. We then created project pages about St. Paul and his journeys, messages, advice, and how he lived his life, including his hardships, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
In Design & Technology, linking to our science unit, we looked at the different types of torches, their uses and the distinct features that make up a torch. The children designed and built working circuits, and then created their own torches for their own specific target audience. All out of recycled plastic water bottles! Their creativity and teamwork were fantastic to see.
Please see the pictures below from our fun week and some of the children’s brilliant work.
To celebrate our children's hard work and efforts this week, we shared our Golden Time with Year 1, where we had lots of fun reading books and drawing pictures!
A big well done to our stars this week, David and Ryan, for their outstanding behaviour and effort, and our writer Devid, who did a fantastic piece of RE work.
Lastly, special congratulations to Olivia W, who was nominated for our Franciscan Gratitude Award!
As we head into the weekend, we want to thank you all for your continued support.
Have a lovely long weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, ready for another exciting week ahead!
