Week 1
Welcome back to the Summer term in Year 3! We hope you had a lovely Easter.
Our new RE topic is called ‘To the Ends of the Earth’ and it introduces Pentecost through the story of the Road to Emmaus, Jesus’ appearances to the disciples and his Ascension into heaven. Year 3 took part in our beginning of term Mass on Thursday and read and sang beautifully.
In Maths, we’ve been revising word problems and our four times tables. In English next week, we’ll be looking at poems called calligrams. These are shape or concrete poems – they can be a whole poem, a phrase or even a single word. The design or shape of the word(s) or letters in the poem helps to explain its meaning.

In Geography we discussed human features in Antarctica and what it would be like to visit it either as a researcher or as a tourist. Next week will see us starting our new History topic and investigating what was important to the ancient Egyptians.
Congratulations to our Stars of the week and to our Learner too.
We hope you have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week.
Best wishes
Mrs Howard, Miss Cicero and Mrs Mills.
