If I was a fish who could wish I wish for…
Another busy week has swam by 🐠 ! We have been continuing with our ‘Under the sea ‘ topic and continued reading our class book The Rainbow Fish and a new story called the Fish who could wish. The children loved being fish who could wish and came up with some great wishes! We began by taking a dive ourselves into the ocean where we watched ocean life and began to discuss sea creatures we might find in our seas and oceans. Nursery really enjoyed playing with our sea creatures and taking them on an adventure with pirate ships and are able to name many sea creatures now including hammerhead shark, clownfish and pufferfish. We also discussed vocabulary to describe a fish such as scales, gills and fin.
We have been continuing with our phase 2 phonics and our sound this week is ‘g’. We have also been continuing with our number rhymes, counting songs number recognition and 1:1 correspondence.
In RE we have begun our new topic ‘To the Ends of the Earth’ . We have been learning about Jesus’ ascension into heaven and the coming of the Holy Spirit. Nursery made their own Holy Spirt headbands to show the tongues of fire and used blue and red scarves to act out the Pentecost Story.
A big well done to our stars of the week 🤩 Barbara and Kavian and learner of the week Albert 🤩
We wish you all a wonderful weekend and look forward to another fun packed busy week.
